The woman who taught me values, manners, responsibilities, always one step behind whenever I need a helping hand. the one to sing along with when i’m the happiest. The one who has sacrificed her time for everyone’s good and especially for me. I admire her love, beauty, her strength and courage trying to meet every end without any fuss. My biggest inspiration, my strength, the best gift the almighty has bestowed upon me – “My Mama”. I love you lots.

I wish i could spend more time with her. I regret that our work keeps us away.

What do you appreciate in your MOM and want to say Thank you for?

Mom, on this Mother’s Day, we would like to appreciate and thank you for all the sacrifices you have made in your life just to make your children happy. Our dad passed away eleven years back but you were able to muster enough courage to give strength to the three of us (Ashok, Shilpa and Ashish). You hid your pain to help us grow personally and professionally. I still remember the day you told us,” I am here today because I know my children will make me and their dad proud someday.” And yes, with your support and blessings we have achieved our dreams today. If you weren’t there for us, my elder brother wouldn’t be getting an excellent position in IBM; I wouldn’t be working in one of the top U.S Healthcare organizations and my younger brother wouldn’t be studying medicine. All the credit goes to you because YOU DESERVE IT. You have given us everything what we have asked for. Now it is time for us to give you what you have asked for. Mom, you are the GREATEST of all.

Any moment you want to say sorry about?

We are sorry that we couldn’t be with you to celebrate the Mother’s Day. But, no matter how many miles we are away from you, you are always in our prayers. Here’s wishing you a very special Happy Mother’s Day to you. We wanted to let you know that our dad knows of your sacrifice and you are not alone. We are all with you. Love you so much.

What do you appreciate in your MOM and want to say Thank you for?

Mama you are the only person who truly worried when I worried and prayed when I despaired. Mama you are just so beautiful and wonderful in every way. I have been brought up on your lap defended by your priceless advises and control. I wouldn’t be here today at this platform without your parental guidance and control. You taught me what should I do and I shouldn’t do? Mama you made me realize that in life there is nothing that can replace parental guidance. And this word “Thank You” is not sufficient enough to express my love and respect towards you. May God shower all His blessings upon you. I love you Mama so much and unconditionally.

Any moment you want to say sorry about?

I know that there is nothing grudges inside your heart as you have been so good in forgiving my mistakes, moreover you taught me lessons after every small mistakes of mine and guided me so positively. But still I would like to say sorry if in case if I have hurt you Mama for a moment or so. I feel so secured with your unconditional love and when you are around.

Ema: Mayengbam Jamini Leima, Housewife/Singer(Lu-hongba and laishol eshei)

My Ema is an epitome of resilience, perseverance….”The perfect woman”,
despites so many disappointments and hardships, she never wavered. Had
she wavered at any point of time, my existence will have been
voided/nullified/meaningless.

Using this opportunity, I would like to thank Ema for bringing me and
my siblings to this world, and at the same time, maintaining this
family unit….For, encouraging me, giving moral supports at all times
and never demanding anything in return….For sharing her wonderful
philosophies of life and thus directing me to “keep moving forward”…

I am sorry Ema, that I have not been able to be the “Perfect Son”, not
able to make you proud, not able to achieve anything worthwhile, not
able to provide you with the happiness you deserve… However, I do
promise, with your blessings, I will make you proud and happy,
forever.

HAPPY MOTHER’s DAY (Late) Wahengbam Chaobi Devi

(Late) Wahengbam Chaobi Devi, worked as a UDC for the government of Manipur

What do you appreciate in your MOM and want to say Thank you for ?

My mom was very upfront, very hard working and resilient. She never tired of doing things for her children. She was the lakshmi of our family. I want to thank her for her endless efforts and sacrifice she made for all of us. She took premature retirement to help dad with his school “School of Speedwriters” which needed manpower and management.

Any moment you want to say sorry about ?

I am sorry about many things. The most being the fact that she did not live longer. I would have loved for her to enjoy more.

HAPPY MOTHER’s DAY HUIDROM RASHAMANI DEVI

Mom’s Name & profession: HUIDROM RASHAMANI DEVI. Mom sells clothes at the Ema Keithel

My Mom has always given me my space even during difficult times in adolescence. I was never scolded, instead my freedom given by my Mom, made me responsible for my actions. I will always be thankful to my Mom for teaching me this quality which has inspired me to respect everyone with their unique individuality.

Since I have been away from home for my studies, apart from yearly visits, I have not spent much time at home. There are times when she is unwell and even though I would like to be near her, that has not been possible. Those are times when I feel sorry that I can’t take care of her.

HAPPY MOTHER’s DAY Khaidem Tombi

Mom’s Name & profession: Khaidem Tombi, Home maker

What I appreciate in my MOM?

She is very punctilious, hard working and an avid learner. I would like to thank her for the way she has brought me up. She had been super strict until I left home at 17 for my higher studies. Although initially I didn’t like her for being too strict, I now realized, that actually helps me in treading the right path then and now.

Any moment I want to say sorry about?

There is a saying in Manipuri, “matam pumnamakta emagi punknungda lei khallabadi, lai tin oknaroi” which can be roughly translated as “one can never get harmed as long as he/she thinks they are inside the mother’s womb all the time.” I do not find any reason to say sorry to my mother as I am always under her love and care and I see myself as a part of her.
