Light Reading : An Experimental attempt to write.

How much of fiction is reality?
How much of reality is fiction ?
Writing is liberating,
Writing is healing,
Writing is discovering yourself,
Writing is fun,
What is writing for you ?

It’s an attempt to write what is in the mind based on my experiences, what I saw and heard, and fictionalize with my imagination. So yes every post is based on reality fused with fiction. It’s a playground for writer’s imagination & reader’s interpretation.

Enjoy the podcast from Pramesh, Ravi and Edwin sharing on the making of the songs “Because of You” and “Hey Ningthibee”

It is amazing to listen to their story on how they developed their passion in the music world, from Ravi learning the drum without a drum, recording songs at home chasing their dream practicing during lunch time with a “Never give up” attitude. And it is very interesting how each of them got together and worked for this project.

These are young people with different background getting together by a common passion of making music. I am so inspired with young talents and their aspirations and hope to do something for them to produce more music connecting all of us.

Episode 045 FindingTheVoices : Being a Father, Special podcast from my 81 years old Father Ingudam Tomba Singh

I really admire his honesty, keeping time and his word, most importantly his value of raising and educating his kids without any difference of gender. This podcast was recorded on Father’s Day on June 16 2013 where he shares about raising, educating and treating kids equally without any differences based on Gender. And I thank FindingTheVoices for such wonderful special moments with my Father,  Ingudam Tomba Singh where we can speak and share his wonderful thoughts. I thank him for raising me with gender equality and giving me the gift of education. Also I have to thank (though hard at that time !!) for the special bamboo stick (LiChei) treatment, which he got specially from Bishenpur in Manipur for all 4 of us. By the time we all passed out our 10th Grade, I must say all these sticks were battered towards the end.

Today is his 81st birthday and we wish him a very Happy Birthday and pray for his good health.

Listen to his previous Episode where he his journey of getting education growing up from his Village Oinam in Manipur.  I am proud to present his wonderful story about growing up from a village and how he strived to study against all odds and proving how important EDUCATION is. He wouldn’t care and gave up materialistic items, but made sure that all his 4 children are educated inspite of the financial constraints, treating sons and daughters equally. I believe in EEMUL : Ema Epa Mitna Uba Laini (Parents are living God) and yes he is my living God.   I am blessed to have the honour to talk with Ingudam Tomba Singh, retired from Lilong Houreibi College and Vice Principal from Oriental College, Imphal and my Father.

Episode 044 FindingTheVoices Nameirakpam Bobo Meitei Author of Tales Of Human Mischief and A Cursed land sharing his journey of being a writer

Here is the podcast of Nameirakpam Bobo Meitei, Author of “Tales Of Human Mischief” and “A Cursed land” sharing his journey of being a writer. His books on a general note are grim, serious and gloomy reflecting life in Manipur.

It is interesting to listen to his journey and struggles of being a writer. And as usual, taking up the difficult path to pursue writing rather than traditional expected career option without support from parents and going through the initial rejections and disappointment from publishers to get his first book published.

He shares a very interesting journey detailing how he got his aspiration, process of writing in actually sitting in solitude and write and many other interesting details. His strength in writing is his creative descriptions which takes the reader to that scene described, feeling what the character is going through.

Listen to the clipping where he talks about his second book  “A Cursed land”,

Listen to the clipping where we talk about one of his initial writing “Colored Education” which he wrote based on an experience during his stay in Thailand, where racism is a big thing. Also we talk about being out of place, not being recognized as Indians within India and where many of his references in his books come from. His book are fiction but the characters, incidents in his books are inspired by facts and stories he has heard.

Read the initial writings of Bobo at e-pao before he published his 2 books.
