The Leaf
I am just a leaf,
Ordinary, plain and starting to dry up,
The morning dew fell on me,
Without any announcement,
Making me glisten,
Elevating me from being ordinary.
~The End~
Believing in surprises. A special poem, my first poem I wrote and shared.
An Experimental attempt to put thoughts in writing by Monica Ingudam.
This was my first poem I had shared and special to me. Love reading the review I received at #Fanstory :
Excellent use of personification
I like the progression from being “just” a leaf
to being elevated about “ordinary”
lovely descriptive detail
nice touch of alliteration in making me
this has such a gentle tone to its celebration of self 🙂

I just love this! And for me it is even more special because it’s the first poem you have posted or shared.. you gave your reader everything she wanted..simplicity, charm, and honesty. I love your work, and look forward to reading more from you..

A lovely first verse that has a nice progression and use of personification.
Well constructed and enlightening. Deserving of a second look which
is always a compliment in poetic writings. To want to return is a trophy.
A collection will make a great book.
I love your poem
